Spirit of Yorkshire to host a second virtual tasting session
Having worked with Wold Top Brewery since 2006, I was very excited to be asked to work on pr for Yorkshire’s first single malt whisky for sister company, Spirit of Yorkshire. When Covid-19 precluded distillery tours, the team took the distillery experience to their supporters with a series of facebook live events and a sell out Zoom tasting event. A second virtual tasting event takes place next month…
After the sell-out success of its first virtual tasting event, the Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery has doubled the capacity for its Autumn tasting event that takes place online next month.
Between 7 and 9pm on Thursday, 15th October, the team at the Hunmanby based distillery will take to the cloud based communications app, Zoom to deliver a tutored tasting featuring a selection of winter warmers from future releases and previously unseen cask samples.
The session will be led by Spirit of Yorkshire Co-Founder, David Thompson and Whisky Director, Joe Clark, who will be answering questions about the four samples in the tasting pack as well as giving an insight into the distillery’s field to bottle process that includes growing 100% of the barley used in the production of Yorkshire’s first single malt whisky.
Mr. Thompson said: “Our first virtual tasting in July sold out very quickly and we had some positive feedback, so we have increased the virtual capacity for the October event that is suitable for whisky tasting experts and novices alike.”
The Spirit of Yorkshire ‘Winter Warmer’ tasting packs cost £30 and are available online from spiritofyorkshire.com or from the distillery shop that is open seven days a week.
